The 5 Step Journey, or the Journey to Self Empowerment, is a process that we like to think of as a hero’s quest. The process begins with the recognition that there is a challenge or a problem in your life, which we refer to as “The Calling.” Once you’ve recognized that help is needed, you can begin the process that will lead you the overcoming of obstacles, healing, and getting back to living your life authentically.
The 5 Step Journey looks like this:
Step 1: The Calling
Recognized through pain, discomfort, etc.
Acceptance that the problem, challenge, or need to change exists
Must be addressed
Step 2: Recognition of Need for Assistance
Understanding and acceptance that the problem cannot be overcome alone
Willingness to seek help
A readiness to begin your quest
Step 3: Commitment to Work with Mentor or Guide
Firm commitment to work collaboratively with mentor / guide
Gather information and explore alternatives
Commitment to mutually agreed upon schedule and actions
Step 4: Confrontation of Obstacles / Tests
Choose and implement the best course of action
Encounter a myriad of obstacles and tests
Draw upon all of your skills to reach your journey’s end
Confront and overcome obstacles that will make you, the hero, stronger
Become reborn, transformed, or purified. Journey “back home” to self.
